The Dorchester Dolphins had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Exeter Hawks.

Dorchester got the win on the strength of a great game by Gus Ford, who had two goals and two assists. Ford scored the first of his two goals at 13:15 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dorchester. Brendon O Shaughnessy assisted on the tally. Ford's next tally made the score 5-1 Dorchester with 1:22 left in the second period. Ben Lawton picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 18:10 into the first period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with six game misconducts.

The Dolphins were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and three majors for 37 minutes in penalty time. Dorchester surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. The Dolphins forced Hawks' netminders to work without much rest, finishing with 67 shots and forcing 61 saves. Dylan Hoover made 41 stops and Joe Metzger made 20.

Dorchester also got points from Patrick Freel, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Lawton, who also had one goal and one assist, and Bryan McCauley, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tyler Kerr also scored for Dorchester. More assists for Dorchester came via Brady Veroughstraete, Tyler Blue, and Tommy Prokes, who contributed one a piece.

Exeter forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 27.0 minutes per game the Hawks had been spending in the box.

Exeter was led by Carter Austin (FAPM), who scored the team's only goal. Austin (FAPM) scored on the power play 8:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dorchester. A slashing penalty on Ford had put the Hawks on the power play. Braedon Van Hooydoak provided the assist.

Craig Wood rejected 24 shots on goal for Dorchester. The Dolphins registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Team's Veroughstraete, Liam Gillooly, and Kerr were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Exeter registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Hawks, Brodie Balcom and Chiristopher Pfaff were ejected from the contest.
