Mt.Brydges vanquishes Lucan in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs defeated the Lucan Irish in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams.

Mt.Brydges came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bulldogs was down 3-2 after a goal by Lucan's Keiron Cobban at 8:24 in the third period. Mt.Brydges knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Sean Candler at 18:56 in the third period.

Candler was all over the ice for the Bulldogs, as he tallied two goals in the win.

Mt.Brydges excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Mt.Brydges also got a goal from Tony Lindner as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were Billy Morris, Tyler Lockwood, Grant Johns, Cameron Dewan, Mike Frizzell, and Trevor Smith, who contributed one a piece.

The Irish stifled the Bulldogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lucan forced Mt.Brydges goalie Andrew Harrimand-Duke to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

The Irish were helped by Andrew Purdom, who grabbed one goal. Purdom scored 19:49 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lucan. Mitch Smith provided the assist. Daniel Cloutier also scored for Lucan. In addition, Lucan received assists from Jordan Vanderwel, Tyler Richardson, Kody Tremblay, and Dylan Murray, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs' Harrimand-Duke stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Mt.Brydges totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For the Bulldogs, Mike Broder was ejected from the game. Joe Frustaglia made 20 saves for Lucan on 23 shots. The Irish incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
