North Middlesex survives Mt.Brydges comeback, wins 4-3

The North Middlesex Stars, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by North Middlesex and clinched a 4-3 victory.

The Stars led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when North Middlesex's Greg Apps's scored at 18:23 in the second period to put the Stars up 5-2.

North Middlesex's offense was sparked by Greg Masschelein, as he ended with three assists in a victory against the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs.

The Stars' penalty kill excelled, as North Middlesex gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Stars forced Mt.Brydges goalie Patrick Maziarz to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. North Middlesex surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Stars average 1.7 goal per contest. North Middlesex's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Stars finished with 28 penalty minutes.

North Middlesex also got points from Mike Sharpe, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North Middlesex included Tom Bedour, who had one and Josh Bilodeau, who had two. More assists for North Middlesex came via Brody Faircloth, who had one and Spencer Kading, who had two.

The Bulldogs' offense rang up 35 shots on North Middlesex's net.

Mt.Brydges was helped by Sean Candler, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Candler scored 3:46 into the third period to make the score 5-3 North Middlesex. Grant Johns picked up the assist. Mt.Brydges additionally got points from Johns, who also had one goal and two assists. Connor Lovie also scored for Mt.Brydges. In addition, Mt.Brydges received assists from Tyler Lockwood, who had one.

Dane Gubbels recorded 32 saves for the Stars. North Middlesex registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Bulldogs' Maziarz stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Mt.Brydges incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
