Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Exeter Hawks defeated the Lucan Irish in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured four attempts between both teams. Exeter also got a shootout goal from Joe Dykstra.

The Hawks were helped by Carter Austin (FAPM), who tallied one goal. Austin (FAPM) scored 5:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Exeter. Trevor Thornton assisted on the tally. Exeter also got points from Thornton, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Exeter came via Dykstra, who had one.

Lucan's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Exeter power plays. The Irish were held below their usual level of production. Lucan averages 4.8 goals per game. The Irish's offense rang up 41 shots on Exeter's net.

Lucan was helped by Dylan Brooks, who racked up one goal. Brooks scored 9:05 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Michael Quinn provided the assist. Lucan also got a goal from Nathan Marcil as well. In addition, Lucan received assists from Nik Petrie, who had one.

Joe Metzger recorded 39 saves for the Hawks. Exeter incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tyler Beattie made 17 saves for the Irish on 19 shots. Lucan incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
