Dorchester uses early goal to top Aylmer, 4-2

Cale Duberry scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Dorchester Dolphins held off the challenges of the Aylmer Spitfires in a tough 4-2 win.

A goal 11:09 into the the first period by Duberry proved to be the game winner, and powered Dorchester to the victory Brett Dzyngel picked up the assist.

Patrick Freel had two goals to lead the Dolphins to victory. Freel's tallies came at 16:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dorchester and 15:00 into the second to make the score 3-1 Dorchester.

Dorchester's offense rang up 39 shots on Aylmer's net.

Dorchester also got points from Duberry, who also had one goal and one assist. Dorchester also got a goal from Liam Gillooly as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Jordan Fuller and Ben Lawton, who each chipped in one.

The Spitfires forced the Dolphins goalie Connor Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Aylmer was helped by Cody Underhill, who registered two goals. Underhill scored the first of his two goals at 13:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dorchester. Will Goodhue provided the assist. Underhill's next tally made the score 3-2 Dorchester with 15:53 left in the third period. The Spitfires had gained a power play chance when Brendon O Shaughnessy was whistled for interference. Goodhue assisted on the tally. In addition, Aylmer received assists from Aiden Estabrooks and Clint Walker, who contributed one a piece.

Dorchester's Hughes stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Dolphins incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Dan Black rejected 35 shots on goal for Aylmer. The Spitfires incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
