Lucan downs Port Stanley in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Dylan Murray gave the Lucan Irish a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Port Stanley Sailors when he scored 3:50 into the extra period.

Lucan kept Port Stanley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ricky Corkum made 26 saves on 32 shots.

The Irish were led by Andrew Purdom, who registered two goals. Purdom scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lucan. A cross checking penalty on Josh Reda had put Lucan on the power play. Nik Petrie picked up the assist. Purdom's next tally on the power play made the score 5-4 Lucan with 12:02 left in the third period. Keiron Cobban provided the assist. Lucan additionally got points from Mitch Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Zach Beaumont, who also had one goal and one assist. Dylan Moss also scored for Lucan. More assists for Lucan came via Nathan Marcil and Ryan Martin, who contributed one a piece.

The Sailors were helped by Ryan McDonnell, who finished with two goals and one assist. McDonnell scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:30 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Lucan. Port Stanley earned a power play opportunity when Daniel Cloutier was put in the box for hooking. Findley Brandon assisted on the tally. McDonnell's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 3:50 left in the second period. The Sailors had gotten the advantage when the Irish's Kody Tremblay was sent off for cross checking. Michael Woolley picked up the assist. Port Stanley also got points from Tyler Beaulieu, who also registered one goal and two assists. Port Stanley also got a goal from Zachary Zinga as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Stanley were Dalton Good and Will Kilgour, who each chipped in one.

Lucan's Andrew Gantner stopped 20 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Irish incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Port Stanley incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
