North Middlesex falls apart in second, loses to Lambeth, 6-0

The North Middlesex Stars was within striking distance after one period, but the Lambeth Lancers put the pedal down in the second en route to a 6-0 victory.

North Middlesex's power play was ineffective against Lambeth's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Lancers were sparked by Kale Corbeth, who finished with one goal. Corbeth scored 16:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambeth. Jake Alkins picked up the assist.

Lambeth made Stars' goaltenders to work without much rest, launching 63 shots and forcing 57 saves. Dane Gubbels made 31 stops and Alex Foster made 26. The Lancers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances.

Lambeth additionally got points from Matt Schurr, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lambeth included Tanner Smith, who had two and Nick Griffin and Mitch Thomas, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Trevor Daynes, who had one and Brandon Robbins, Justin Clark, and Warren Hargraves, who contributed two a piece.

Logan Ferrington made 23 saves for Lambeth on 23 shots. The Lancers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Stars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
