Aylmer falls apart in second, loses to Dorchester, 6-1Dorchester Fri, Oct 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aylmer Spitfires allowed the Dorchester Dolphins to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-1. Aylmer's power play was ineffective against Dorchester's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Dolphins were led by Ben Lawton, who registered one goal. Dorchester also got a goal from Matt Cormier as well. More assists for Dorchester came via Liam Gillooly, who had three and Jordan Fuller, Cale Duberry, Chad Brulotte, and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who each chipped in one. The Spitfires were held below their usual level of production. Aylmer averages 3.5 goals per game. The Spitfires could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Aylmer was led by Cody Underhill, who scored the team's only goal. Underhill scored short handed 19:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Dorchester. The Spitfires played down a man on Tyler Marr's tripping. Aiden Estabrooks assisted on the tally. The Dolphins' Craig Wood stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Dorchester registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For the Dolphins, Duberry was ejected from the game. Black rejected 41 shots on goal for Aylmer. The Spitfires ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Trevor Stewart was ejected from the game.
