Thamesford blows out Mt.Brydges, 7-1

The Thamesford Trojans had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs.

Mt.Brydges was stymied by Thamesford netminder Jake Fonti, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Fonti managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.98 prior to the game.

The Trojans' penalty kill excelled, as Thamesford gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Trojans stifled the Bulldogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Thamesford kept Mt.Brydges' goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrick Maziarz made 55 saves on 62 shots. The Trojans surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Thamesford has scored at the pace of 4.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Trojans were helped by Mitch Davies, who tallied one goal. Davies scored on the power play 13:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Thamesford. Thamesford had gotten the advantage when the Bulldogs' Billy Morris was sent off for tripping. Dakota Hill provided the assist. Thamesford also got points from Liam Billings, who also had one goal and one assist and Andrew McLennan, who also racked up two goals and one assist. James Toye also scored for Thamesford. In addition, Thamesford received assists from Stavros Mandrapilias, who had one, Dylan Black, who had two, Daniel Green, who had three, and Adam Levine, who had five.

The Trojans were unable to stop Mt.Brydges from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulldogs eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Mt.Brydges also got a goal from Tyler Lockwood as well. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Sean Candler and Ryan Patrick, who contributed one a piece.

Thamesford incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mt.Brydges incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
