Dorchester survives Port Stanley comeback, wins 5-4

The Dorchester Dolphins, who led by four goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Dorchester and clinched a 5-4 victory.

The Dolphins led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Dorchester's Brendon O Shaughnessy's scored at 13:58 in the second period to put the Dolphins up 4-0.

Dorchester was led by Tyler Blue, who grabbed one goal. Blue scored 8:36 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Dorchester. Connor Lovell assisted on the tally.

The Dolphins' offense rang up 38 shots on the Port Stanley Sailors' net. Dorchester's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Dolphins finished with 51 penalty minutes.

Jesiah Sweetland also scored for Dorchester. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Liam Gillooly, Jamie Brzozowski, Brett Dzyngel, and Tommy Prokes, who each chipped in one.

Port Stanley excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Sailors kept Dorchester's goalie busy throughout the game, and Craig Wood made 36 saves on 40 shots.

Port Stanley was helped by Tyson Corkum, who finished with one goal. Corkum scored 5:46 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Trevor Smith picked up the assist. Port Stanley additionally got points from Zachary Zinga, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Stanley also got a goal from Luke McGuire as well. More assists for Port Stanley came via Nicholas Phillips, who had one.

The Dolphins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Shayne Rhyno was ejected from the game. The Sailors' Ricky Corkum stopped 33 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Port Stanley incurred 56 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors.
