New Hamburg blows out Tavistock, 4-1Tavistock Sat, Jan 11, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The New Hamburg Firebirds were firing on all cylinders against the Tavistock Braves, and when the final buzzer sounded Firebirds emerged with a 4-1 win. New Hamburg was led by goalie Eric Peicheff, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Peicheff managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.9 prior to the game. The Firebirds were led by Sean Kienapple, who registered one goal. Kienapple scored 10:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 New Hamburg. Sean Hergott assisted on the tally. New Hamburg stifled Tavistock's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Others who scored for New Hamburg included Anthony Osterling, Kyle Mohr, and Brodie Muckler, who each put in one. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Quinten Haddock, who had two and David Jennings, Brandon Yantzi, and Carter Tracey, who each chipped in one. The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Firebirds to score on any of their three power plays. New Hamburg incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tavistock's Jason Miller stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
