Ayr beats Delhi 6-0 as Pullia gets hat trick

The Delhi Travellers could not stop the Ayr Centennials' Anthony Pullia, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-0 win.

Pullia's first goal came 4:37 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:18 into the second and at 7:50 into the second.

Ayr stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Centennials featured an improved defense during the game. Ayr averages 2.3 goals allowed per game. The Centennials' offense rang up 44 shots on the Travellers' net.

Ayr also got points from Andrew Richard, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Ayr included Adam Fisher and Jeff Howlett, who each put in one. More assists for Ayr came via Ben Poort, who had two and Mac Kemp, Connor MacLean, Eric Hackborn, Brendan Schaefer, Mike McKnight, and Jack Taylor, who each chipped in one.

Delhi was held below its usual level of production. The Travellers average 2.6 goals per game. Delhi's penalty kill unit could not stop Ayr's power play, which converted on three of five opportunities.

Lee Doherty recorded 22 saves for the Centennials. Ayr incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Travellers' Nick Heath stopped 38 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Delhi incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
