Brooks nets hat trick, leads Paris to 5-2 win over Ayr

The Ayr Centennials could not stop the Paris Mounties' Richard Brooks, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

Brooks notched his first tally 11:27 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:59 into the second and at 15:58 into the second.

Paris' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Ayr's power play unit.

Paris additionally got points from Merrit Crumback, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brodie Smith also scored for Paris. More assists for Paris came via Zack Skubnik, who had two, Clayton Chalmers, who had three, and Brady Wheelans, Zack Hedley, Scott Sippel, and Ian Fowler, who contributed one a piece.

The Centennials could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Ayr averages 4.3 goals per game. The Centennials' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Ayr averages 2.4 goals allowed per game. The Centennials found themselves short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Zach Schompe rejected 26 shots on goal for the Mounties. Paris incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Lee Doherty recorded 22 saves for Ayr.
