Zach Schompe had a standout game with 39 saves, and the Paris Mounties beat the Wellesley Applejacks 2-1.

Paris was sparked by Brady Wheelans, who racked up one goal. Wheelans scored 14:05 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Paris. Ian Fowler picked up the assist.

Wellesley was unable to stop the Mounties from sending pucks towards the net, and Paris eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Clayton Chalmers also scored for Paris. In addition, Paris received assists from Brett Banks, who had one.

The Applejacks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Wellesley's offense operated below it season average. The Applejacks average 5.0 goals per game. Wellesley forced the Mounties goalie Schompe to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Applejacks were led by Troy Williams, who scored the team's only goal. Williams scored on the power play 12:05 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wellesley. Wellesley had taken the advantage when Paris' Zack Skubnik got sent off for holding. Luke Rose assisted on the tally.

The Mounties incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Applejacks' Josh Heer stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Wellesley incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
