Ayr survives Tavistock comeback, wins 4-2

The Tavistock Braves tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Ayr Centennials held on for a 4-2 victory.

Ayr took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Tavistock storm back on a Jordan Ritsma goal 19:17 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Centennials were led by Riley Clipper, who grabbed one goal. Clipper scored 11:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ayr. Anthony Pullia picked up the assist.

Ayr kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Trevor Bloch made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Ayr also got points from Pullia, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Brendan Schaefer, who also had one goal and one assist. Ayr also got a goal from Jack Taylor as well. In addition, Ayr received assists from Mac Kemp, Brandon Christopher, and Jordan Pettitt, who contributed one a piece.

Tavistock additionally got points from Sean Leslie, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Tavistock came via Matthew Lupton and Nick Quehl, who each chipped in one.

Mitch Figueirdo rejected 17 shots on goal for the Centennials. Ayr incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tavistock incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dylan Yantzi was ejected from the game.
