The New Hamburg Firebirds had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over the Wellesley Applejacks.

New Hamburg got the win thanks to a great game by Sean Kienapple, who had two goals and two assists. Kienapple scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:14 into the second period to make the score 4-1 New Hamburg. The Firebirds had taken the advantage when Wellesley's Felix Lantaigne got sent off for roughing after whistle. Tyler Hoffman picked up the assist. Kienapple's next tally on the power play made the score 6-1 New Hamburg with one second1 seconds left in the second period. Kory Nowak provided the assist.
