Ayr beats Burford 7-1 as Fisher gets hat trickNorth Dumfries Thu, Oct 31, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Adam Fisher netted a hat trick to lead the Ayr Centennials over the Burford Bulldogs, 7-1. Fisher notched his first tally 8:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:06 into the second and at 19:56 into the second.Ayr led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring four goals in the second. Burford was stymied by the Centennials netminder Lee Doherty, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Doherty certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.97 entering the contest. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:13 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts. Ayr forced the Bulldogs goalie Riley Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Centennials' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Ayr averages 4.2 goals per contest. Ayr also got points from Andrew Richard, who also tallied two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Brandon Quan also scored for Ayr. More assists for Ayr came via Jordan Kerr, who had two and Jake Younger, Brandon Christopher, and Connor MacLean, who contributed one a piece. Burford did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Bulldogs average 3.4 goals per game. Burford also got a goal from Tyler Vandenbussche as well. In addition, Burford received assists from Chris Grand and Broidy Rondelet, who each chipped in one. The Centennials totaled 55 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Ayr ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kerr was ejected from the game. Edwards recorded 25 saves for Burford. The Bulldogs totaled 41 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Burford, Matt Dipaolo was ejected from the game.
