Tavistock beats Wellesley 5-2 as Yantzi gets hat trickWellesley Sat, Oct 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Dylan Yantzi netted a hat trick to lead the Tavistock Braves over the Wellesley Applejacks, 5-2. Yantzi notched his first tally 15:49 into the second period. He then added goals at 16:47 into the second and at 19:32 into the third.Wellesley was unable to stop Tavistock from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Tavistock additionally got points from Jordan Ritsma, who also registered one goal and one assist. Charlie Irwin also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via Jake Wiffen, who had two and Sean Leslie, Neals Vanweley, and Nick Quehl, who each chipped in one. The Applejacks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wellesley puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. The Applejacks were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 26 penalty minutes. Wellesley was helped by Mckenzie Carter, who finished with one goal. Carter scored 14:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Justin Lebold picked up the assist. Wellesley also got points from Reid Denstedt, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Wellesley also got a goal from Troy Williams as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wellesley were Parker Wood, who had one. Tavistock's Jason Miller stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Braves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brayden Bruce made 39 saves for the Applejacks on 43 shots. Wellesley registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
