The Burford Bulldogs tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Woodstock Navy Vets held on for a 5-4 victory.

Woodstock took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have Burford storm back on a Tyler Vandenbussche goal 19:02 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Navy Vets' penalty kill excelled, as Woodstock gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Navy Vets outdid their season average for goals scored. Woodstock has scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The Navy Vets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

Woodstock was helped by Dan Haig, who finished with one goal. Haig scored 7:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Woodstock. Justin Elms picked up the assist. Woodstock additionally got points from Nathan Innes, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Braden Hutchison also scored for Woodstock. Other players who recorded assists for Woodstock were Michael Nutt, Matt Jauernig, Brandon Velda, Tyler Lyons, and Kyle Robertson, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs' offense rang up 33 shots on the Navy Vets' net. Burford was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 50 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs were helped by Broidy Rondelet, who racked up one goal. Rondelet scored on the power play 15:49 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Woodstock. Burford had gotten the advantage when Woodstock's Velda was sent off for interference. Matt Kliewer provided the assist. Burford also got points from Pat Bates, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Vandenbussche, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Burford also got a goal from Ray Munro as well. In addition, Burford received assists from Chris Grand, who had one.

The Navy Vets' Michael Roefs stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Woodstock registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For the Navy Vets, Nutt was ejected from the game. Nick Trask rejected 24 shots on goal for the Bulldogs. For Burford, Grand and Hugh Carson were ejected from the contest.
