The Burford Bulldogs fell behind early, and the New Hamburg Firebirds kept piling on the points on the way to a 10-4 victory.

Kyle Mohr was all over the ice for New Hamburg, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Mohr scored the first of his two goals at 5:10 into the first period to make the score 2-0 New Hamburg. Garrett Pollock assisted on the tally. Mohr's next tally made the score 5-1 New Hamburg with 11:51 left in the second period. A holding penalty on Matt Dipaolo had put the Firebirds on the power play. David Jennings picked up the assist.

New Hamburg pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 44 penalty minutes.

The Firebirds forced Bulldogs' goaltenders to work all game long, taking 48 shots and forcing 38 saves. Riley Edwards made 31 stops and Jake Manousos made seven. New Hamburg stifled Burford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Firebirds bested their season scoring average. This season, New Hamburg averages 6.0 goals per contest.

New Hamburg also got points from Kory Nowak, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Anthony Osterling, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Kyle McDonald, who also had one goal and one assist, Brodie Muckler, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Tyler Hoffman, who also racked up one goal and two assists. New Hamburg also got a goal from Tyler Randerson as well. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Sean Kienapple, who had two and Andrew Boer and Taylor Wood, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs found themselves short handed often, totaling 40 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Burford was led by Tyler Vandenbussche, who registered two goals and one assist. Vandenbussche scored the first of his two goals at 3:52 into the third period to make the score 7-3 New Hamburg. Chris Grand assisted on the tally. Vandenbussche's next tally made the score 10-4 New Hamburg with 2:43 left in the third period. Peter Janeck picked up the assist. Burford additionally got points from Janeck, who also had one goal and one assist. Nick Gratton also scored for Burford. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Pat Bates, who had two.

Ryan Purcell made 15 saves for the Firebirds on 19 shots. The Bulldogs registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities.
