Masters leads Paris to shutout victory over Delhi

Andrew Masters recorded a shutout against the Delhi Travellers as the Paris Mounties picked up a 4-0 win.

Paris pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 40 penalty minutes.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:08 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with four game misconducts.

The Mounties stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Paris kept the Travellers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jordan Ironside made 42 saves on 46 shots.

The Mounties were led by Graham Kitching, who registered one goal and one assist. Kitching scored 9:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Clayton Chalmers assisted on the tally. Paris additionally got points from Chalmers, who also registered one goal and one assist. Zack Hedley also scored for Paris. In addition, Paris received assists from Ian Fowler, who had two and Brian Mueller, Richard Brooks, and Brodie Smith, who contributed one a piece.

Delhi was held below its usual level of production. The Travellers average 2.7 goals per game.

Masters recorded 27 saves for Paris. The Mounties registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Team's Brett Banks and Smith were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Delhi totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-7 on the power play. The Travellers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jordan Betzold was ejected from the game.
