Paris uses early goal to top Tavistock, 3-1Tavistock Fri, Oct 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Paris Mounties took the lead against the Tavistock Braves in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory. Brian Mueller provided Paris with the game-winning tally when he scored 15:11 into the the first period. Richard Brooks assisted on the tally.The Mounties were led by goalie Zach Schompe, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Schompe certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.22 entering the contest. Paris was led by Zack Hedley, who registered one goal. Hedley scored 5:22 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Paris. Brett Banks provided the assist. The Mounties excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Ian Fowler also scored for Paris. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Clayton Chalmers, who had one and Scott Sippel, who had two. Tavistock's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Paris power plays. Paris was unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Tavistock eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Braves were led by Mackenzie Kalbfleisch, who scored the team's only goal. Kalbfleisch scored 15:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Paris. Branden Taylor picked up the assist. The Mounties incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Trevor Bloch made 21 saves for Tavistock on 23 shots. The Braves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
