MN Wilderness squeaks by Austin, 3-2

The MN Wilderness Wilderness gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Austin Bruins.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Billy Exell at 8:11 of the third period.

MN Wilderness was led by Exell, who tallied one goal and one assist.

The Wilderness' offense rang up 40 shots on Austin's net.

MN Wilderness also got points from Thomas Lindstrom, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. MN Wilderness also got a goal from Michael Covach as well. More assists for MN Wilderness came via Eric Brenk, Dominik Tiffels, and will peterson, who each chipped in one.

The Bruins were helped by Easton Viitala, who racked up one goal and one assist. Viitala scored 5:36 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brennan Sanford assisted on the tally. Austin additionally got points from Sanford, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Austin received assists from Dominik Florian, who had two.

Kasimir Kaskisuo rejected 23 shots on goal for MN Wilderness. The Wilderness avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of three power plays. Austin's Nicholas Lehr stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Bruins incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
