Coulee Region falls to Janesville after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Janesville Jets battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Coulee Region Chill.

Janesville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Jets fell behind 3-1 after a power play goal by Coulee Region's Richard Zehnal at 8:58 in the second period. Janesville tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Robin Hoglund at 14:42 in the third period. The Jets scored the game winner on the power play at 19:21 in the third period on a goal by Hoglund.

Janesville got the win thanks to a great game by Kyle Patava, who had one goal and three assists. Patava scored 13:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Hoglund picked up the assist.

The Jets' offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.9 shots per game they average.

Janesville also got points from Hoglund, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Janesville included Tyler Rehm and Zach Avolio, who scored one goal each. In addition, Janesville received assists from Carson Vance, Adam Winborg, and Bryan Kronberger, who each chipped in one.

The Chill kept Janesville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Logan Halladay made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Coulee Region also had goals scored by Sean Kalbak and Adam Lovick, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Jesse Tredinnick, who had two and Lance Carney, James McGing, and Gordon Wells, who contributed one a piece.

The Jets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Coulee Region's Adam Carlson stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Chill incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
