The Brookings Blizzard tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the MN Magicians Magicians held on for a 4-3 victory. A goal by Matt Colford put MN Magicians up 4-2 in the third period, but Brookings pulled to within one on Evan Hesse's tally 17:08 into the third period. In the losing effort, the Blizzard were led by Nick DeCenzo, who had two goals. DeCenzo scored the first of his two goals at 11:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brookings. Jared Goudreau assisted on the tally. DeCenzo's next tally made the score 2-2 with 3:14 left in the second period. A holding penalty on Derick Kuchera had put Brookings on the power play. Eric Brenk provided the assist. The Magicians managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. MN Magicians finished below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. The Magicians' offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.9 shots per game they average. MN Magicians also got points from Mario Bianchi, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. MN Magicians also had goals scored by Nick Uglem and Tony Uglem, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for MN Magicians were Nicholas Kuchera, Will Johnson, Eetu Karvinen, Alexander Konnov, and Thomas Delaney, who contributed one a piece. The Blizzard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. MN Magicians was unable to stop Brookings from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blizzard eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. In addition, Brookings received assists from Brandon Parker, who had one. Atte Tolvanen made 29 saves for the Magicians on 32 shots. Austin Priebe recorded 30 saves for Brookings. The Blizzard totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. For Brookings, Andrew Herlofsky was ejected from the game.
