A stellar performance between the pipes by Eric Hancock helped the Odessa Jackalopes defeat the Corpus Christi IceRays, 2-1. Odessa pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 43 penalty minutes. The Jackalopes were led by Robb Stautz, who grabbed one goal. Stautz scored 10:20 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Odessa. Dylan Adler provided the assist. Odessa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Corpus Christi to score on any of its six power plays. The Jackalopes' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 21.8 shots per game they average. Odessa also got a goal from Tate Sykes as well. More assists for Odessa came via Andrew McLean, Jake Kreutzer, and Mathieu Briand, who contributed one a piece. The IceRays forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Corpus Christi had been spending in the box. The IceRays' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Odessa power plays. The 30 shots that Corpus Christi put on net surpassed the IceRays' average of 24.2 shots per game this season. Corpus Christi was led by Jake Durflinger, who scored the team's only goal. Durflinger scored 11:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Corpus Christi. Maurin Bouvet assisted on the tally. Eric Hancock made 29 saves for Odessa on 30 shots. For the Jackalopes, Cody Slocum was ejected from the game. Ben Myers rejected 33 shots on goal for the IceRays.
