Catt, Aberdeen blank MN Magicians, 3-0

Chad Catt made 39 saves to complete the shutout and led the Aberdeen Wings to a 3-0 win against the MN Magicians Magicians.

Aberdeen was sparked by Colin O Neill, who had one goal. O Neill scored on the power play 8:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen. The Wings earned a power play opportunity when Sam Wolfe was put in the box for cross checking. TJ Roo picked up the assist.

Aberdeen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow MN Magicians to score on any of its four power plays. The Wings featured an improved defense during the game. Aberdeen allows 2.1 goals per game. By firing 33 shots on goal, the Wings exceeded the 24.7 shots they average per game this year.

Aberdeen also got a goal from Kyle Haak as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Erik Gollenbeck, Austin Swingle, and Bjorn Sigurdarson, who each chipped in one.

The Magicians did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. MN Magicians averages 2.5 goals per game. The Magicians' offense rang up 39 shots on Aberdeen's net.

MN Magicians was led by Will Johnson, who took eight shots.

The Wings totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Atte Tolvanen rejected 30 shots on goal for the Magicians. MN Magicians ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors.
