Michigan downs Soo, 4-0

AJ Marcinek finished with one point to lead the Michigan Warriors to a 4-0 victory over the Soo Eagles.

Michigan's defense was surprisingly good. The Warriors average 2.7 goals allowed per game. Michigan's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. With 32 shots on target during the contest, the Warriors exceeded the 27.8 shots they average per game this year.

Michigan also had goals scored by Zack Szajner, who had one and Cody Lichtenvoort, who had two. More assists for Michigan came via Jake Hopfner, who had two and TJ Stuntz, Jon Farkas, Scott Cuthrell, Colin Larkin, Connor Lyons, and Nick Govig, who contributed one a piece.

Soo was below its usual level of shot production, taking 17 shots compared to the 23.5 the Eagles average.

Soo was led by Mike Sabatini, who took three shots.

Trevor Gorsuch rejected 17 shots on goal for Michigan. The Warriors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Colin Brennan recorded 28 saves for the Eagles. Soo ended with no penalties and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
