MN Magicians survives Janesville comeback, wins 3-2

The Janesville Jets tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the MN Magicians Magicians held on for a 3-2 victory.

MN Magicians took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Janesville storm back on a Michael Louria goal 19:26 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Magicians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. MN Magicians' offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.9 shots per game it averages.

The Magicians were helped by Tyler Tomberlin, who tallied one goal. Tomberlin scored 17:39 into the second period to make the score 2-0 MN Magicians. Joe Kleven assisted on the tally. MN Magicians also got points from Matt Colford, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Eetu Karvinen also scored for MN Magicians. In addition, MN Magicians received assists from Derick Kuchera, who had one and Nicholas Kuchera, who had two.

The 24 shots that the Jets put on net surpassed Janesville's average of 21.5 shots per game this season.

Janesville also got a goal from Jordan Himley as well. Other players who recorded assists for Janesville were Carson Vance, who had two and Zach Avolio and Cole Pierce, who contributed one a piece.

Bryan Nies recorded 22 saves for MN Magicians. The Magicians incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Brock Kautz rejected 34 shots on goal for the Jets. Janesville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
