Olli Kalkaja had a standout game with 26 saves, and the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees beat the Wichita Falls Wildcats 3-1.

Rio Grande Valley was led by Evan Schmidbauer, who registered one goal. Schmidbauer scored on the power play 19:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rio Grande Valley. The Killer Bees had gained a power play chance when Colin Staub was whistled for cross checking. Anthony Croston provided the assist.

Wichita Falls was led by Josh Haverstrom, who scored the team's only goal. Haverstrom scored 15:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Ledford picked up the assist.

Rio Grande Valley totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Chase Munroe rejected 19 shots on goal for the Wildcats. Wichita Falls totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
