Bridges leads Topeka to shutout victory over Springfield

PJ Bridges was superb between the pipes for the Topeka RoadRunners, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Springfield Jr. Blues.

Topeka was led by Sam Rennaker, who racked up one goal. Rennaker scored 13:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Topeka. Clint Garris assisted on the tally.

The RoadRunners excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Topeka featured an improved defense during the game. The RoadRunners gives up 2.5 goals on average per game.

Topeka also got points from Jasen Fernsler, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Groat also scored for Topeka. Other players who recorded assists for Topeka were Cody Champagne, Jake Kamrass, Brandon Vuic, and Sly Sutter, who contributed one a piece.

Springfield was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Blues average 2.7 goals per game. With 33 shots on target during the contest, Springfield exceeded the 23.4 shots it averages per game this year.

The Jr. Blues were led by Nick Belger, who took six shots.

PJ Bridges made 33 saves for Topeka on 33 shots. The RoadRunners incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Stefanos Lekkas rejected 20 shots on goal for Springfield. The Jr. Blues incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
