Jansen's hat trick boosts Coulee Region over Janesville, 6-3Omni Center Thu, Oct 24, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Janesville Jets could not stop the Coulee Region Chill's Mac Jansen, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win. Jansen got on the scoresheet 3:48 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:33 into the second and at 16:03 into the second.Coulee Region put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Janesville to score on any of its five power plays. The Chill found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Coulee Region has scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The Chill relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Jansen, Jesse Tredinnick and Brogran Rafferty took 15 of the team's 25 shots. Coulee Region also got points from Sean Kalbak, who also had one goal and one assist and Tredinnick, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. In addition, Coulee Region received assists from Cam Bleck, who had two and Eddie Matsushima, Gordon Wells, and Richard Zehnal, who contributed one a piece. The Jets' penalty kill unit could not stop Coulee Region's power play, which converted on three of four opportunities. With 32 shots on target during the contest, Janesville exceeded the 23.8 shots it averages per game this year. The Jets were helped by Michael Louria, who tallied one goal. Louria scored 9:11 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Coulee Region. Zach Yoder assisted on the tally. Janesville additionally got points from Jordan Himley, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Adam Winborg also scored for Janesville. More assists for Janesville came via Carson Vance, who had one and Robin Hoglund, who had two. The Chill's Adam Carlson stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Coulee Region incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Logan Halladay made 19 saves for Janesville on 23 shots. The Jets incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
