The Soo Eagles tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Springfield Jr. Blues would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Springfield made the score 3-0 on a goal by Patrick Curry at 7:39 in the second period, and Soo got as close as 3-2 when Michael Caruso scored 10:16 into the third period. Curry had two goals to lead the Jr. Blues to victory. The 29 shots that Springfield put on net surpassed the Jr. Blues' average of 23.2 shots per game this season. Springfield also got a goal from Trevor Stone as well. Other players who recorded assists for Springfield were Nick Belger, who had two and Ji Young Li, Mike Severson, and Kyle Shreve, who contributed one a piece. The Eagles put 41 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.4 they average per game. Soo was helped by Kyle Loridon, who grabbed one goal. Loridon scored 3:43 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Springfield. Denver Pierce assisted on the tally. More assists for Soo came via Dante Suffredini, Chase Matson, and Bruno Birzitis, who each chipped in one. Springfield's Stefanos Lekkas stopped 39 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Jr. Blues incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Colin Brennan made 26 saves for the Eagles on 29 shots. Soo incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
