Kenai River wins tough contest against MN Magicians, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Kenai River Brown Bears escaped with a 4-2 victory over the MN Magicians Magicians.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Albin Karlsson at 4:03 of the second period.

MN Magicians' power play was ineffective against Kenai River's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Brown Bears were led by Jacob Davidson, who tallied one goal. Davidson scored 16:15 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kenai River. Sebastian Fuchs picked up the assist.

Kenai River's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 10 MN Magicians power plays. The 33 shots that the Brown Bears put on net surpassed Kenai River's average of 29.6 shots per game this season.

Kenai River also got points from Alec Butcher, who also registered one goal and one assist and Karlsson, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kenai River also got a goal from Conor Deal as well. More assists for Kenai River came via Nathan Colwell, who had one.

The Magicians forced the Brown Bears goalie Kris Oldham to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. MN Magicians struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for 12 opposing power plays.

The Magicians were helped by Tony Uglem, who racked up one goal. Uglem scored 19:32 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Kenai River. Cody Milligan assisted on the tally. Derick Kuchera also scored for MN Magicians.

Kris Oldham made 31 saves for Kenai River on 33 shots. The Brown Bears incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors. MN Magicians' Atte Tolvanen stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced.
