Coulee Region rides Carlson to victory over Janesville, 4-1Janesville Ice Arena Sat, Sep 28, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Adam Carlson stood on his head and made 29 saves to lead the Coulee Region Chill to a 4-1 victory over the Janesville Jets. Coulee Region pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 23 penalty minutes. The Chill were led by Richard Zehnal, who tallied one goal. Zehnal scored 18:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Coulee Region. Mac Jansen assisted on the tally. Coulee Region stifled Janesville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Chill exceeded the 22.9 shots they average per game this year. Coulee Region also got a goal from Justin Holliday as well. Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Griff Jeszka, who had two and Sean Kalbak and Adam Lovick, who contributed one a piece. The Jets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The 30 shots that Janesville put on net surpassed the Jets' average of 23.1 shots per game this season. Janesville was led by Adam Winborg, who scored the team's only goal. Winborg scored 4:16 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Coulee Region. Michael Louria picked up the assist. The Jets' Logan Halladay stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Janesville totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-8 on the power play. |
