Aldridge stymies MN Wilderness, Fairbanks wins 2-1

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs relied on the sparkling performance of Kevin Aldridge in net to grab a 2-1 win against the MN Wilderness Wilderness.

Fairbanks was led by Kyle Lee, who registered one goal and one assist. Lee scored 17:33 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Fairbanks. Hans Gorowsky provided the assist.

The Ice Dogs stifled MN Wilderness' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Fairbanks additionally got points from Jacob Hetz, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Fairbanks came via Doug Rose, who had one.

The Wilderness' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Fairbanks power plays. Fairbanks was unable to stop MN Wilderness from sending pucks towards the net, and the Wilderness eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

MN Wilderness was led by Jakob Romo, who scored the team's only goal. Romo scored 2:07 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Colton Kramer assisted on the tally.

Aldridge rejected 31 shots on goal for the Ice Dogs. Fairbanks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kasimir Kaskisuo recorded 27 saves for the Wilderness. MN Wilderness incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
