Odessa squeaks by MN Magicians, 5-3Schwan SR-2 Sat, Sep 21, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Odessa Jackalopes and the MN Magicians Magicians were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Odessa made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Lukas Laub's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Jackalopes were led by Laub, who tallied one goal and one assist. Laub scored on the power play 18:12 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Odessa. Odessa had taken the advantage when MN Magicians' Cody Milligan got sent off for kneeing. Alex Alger picked up the assist. The Jackalopes were sparked by Laub, who racked up one goal and one assist. With 25 shots on target during the contest, Odessa exceeded the 21.0 shots it averages per game this year. The Jackalopes surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Odessa averages 1.9 goal per game. Odessa also got points from Derek Brown, who also registered one goal and one assist. Odessa also got a goal from Razmuz Waxin-Engback as well.
