MN Magicians rides Tolvanen to victory over Wenatchee, 2-1

Schwan SR-4    Fri, Sep 20, 2013

Atte Tolvanen stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the MN Magicians Magicians to a 2-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild.

MN Magicians pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 21 penalty minutes.

The Magicians were led by Mario Bianchi, who had one goal. Bianchi scored 10:21 into the third period to make the score 2-1 MN Magicians. Tony Uglem assisted on the tally.

MN Magicians also got a goal from Cody Milligan as well. Other players who recorded assists for MN Magicians were Eetu Karvinen, who had one.

Wenatchee forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 19 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game the Wild had been spending in the box. Wenatchee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Wild's offense rang up 34 shots on MN Magicians' net.

Wenatchee was led by David Powlowski, who scored the team's only goal. Powlowski scored on the power play 11:29 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wenatchee. The Wild had gotten the advantage when the Magicians' Sam Wolfe was sent off for tripping. River Rymsha provided the assist.

Wenatchee's Mackenzie Sawyer stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Wild registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
