Bismarck boosted by Nelson's play in net, beats Amarillo 3-1

The Bismarck Bobcats relied on the sparkling performance of Aaron Nelson in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Amarillo Bulls.

Bismarck was led by Filip Starzynski, who had one goal. Starzynski scored 3:20 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck. Levi Blom picked up the assist.

Matt Anders also scored for Bismarck. Other players who recorded assists for Bismarck were Chris Diver, Huba Sekesi, Nate Repensky, and Evan Giesler, who each chipped in one.

Amarillo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Bulls' offense operated below they season average. Amarillo averages 3.3 goals per game. The Bulls relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Brady Ferguson, Matt Sieckhaus and Omar Mullan took 15 of the team's 27 shots.

More assists for Amarillo came via Brendan Vetter and Joe Grabowski, who contributed one a piece.

Aaron Nelson made 26 saves for the Bobcats on 27 shots. Bismarck incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Paul Berrafato rejected 23 shots on goal for Amarillo. The Bulls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
