The Corpus Christi IceRays tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Coulee Region Chill would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Coulee Region took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Corpus Christi storm back on a Lucas Bennett goal 15:44 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Richard Zehnal had a great game for the Chill, netting two goals. Zehnal found the back of the net on the power play 18:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Coulee Region and again while on the power play 8:51 into the second to make the score 2-0 Coulee Region. Coulee Region cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances. The Chill found themselves short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. Adam Lovick also scored for Coulee Region. More assists for Coulee Region came via Ondrej Zehnal, who had one, Mac Jansen, who had two, and Jake Zeleznikar, who had three. The IceRays were helped by Eric Purcell, who registered one goal. Purcell scored on the power play 2:18 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Coulee Region. Corpus Christi had taken the advantage when Coulee Region's Jansen got sent off for head contact. Jason Lem picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Corpus Christi were Malo Ville, who had one. Adam Carlson recorded 22 saves for the Chill. The IceRays' Forbes Ploszaj stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Corpus Christi incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
