The Janesville Jets tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Aberdeen Wings would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. Aberdeen took a 2-0 lead during the first period, only to have Janesville storm back on a Nick Petrella goal 10:15 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Erik Baskin had two goals to lead the Wings to victory. Aberdeen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Wings' offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 20.3 shots per game they average. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Ryan Cook, Tanner Okeson, Dillon Eichstadt, and Jonathan Grebosky, who each chipped in one. The Jets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Aberdeen power plays. In addition, Janesville received assists from Carter Lukenda, who had one. Aberdeen's Chad Catt stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Wings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brock Kautz made 32 saves for Janesville on 34 shots. The Jets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
