Rob Marsanico gave the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Lone Star Brahmas when he scored 3:59 into the extra period. Rio Grande Valley was paced by Marsanico, who had one goal. The Killer Bees stifled Lone Star's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rio Grande Valley put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.5 it averages per game. Rio Grande Valley also got a goal from Will Clark as well. In addition, Rio Grande Valley received assists from Ben Greiner, who had one and Dylan Abood, who had two. The Brahmas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Lone Star's offense was clicking better than usual and put 17 shots on goal during the game, better than the 13.8 shots per game it averages. The Brahmas were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time. Lone Star was led by Liam Stirtzinger, who scored the team's only goal.
