Kenai River falls apart in second, loses to Fairbanks, 5-1Soldotna Sports Center Fri, Sep 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs used a three-goal second period to put away the Kenai River Brown Bears, 5-1. Fairbanks was sparked by David Kaplan, who registered one goal. Kaplan scored 6:47 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Fairbanks. Hans Gorowsky picked up the assist. With 36 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Dogs exceeded the 32.0 shots they average per game this year. Fairbanks also got points from Lonnie Clary, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Duggie Lagrone also scored for Fairbanks. More assists for Fairbanks came via Chandler Madry, who had two and Logan Wendling, Wyatt Ege, Colton Wolter, Brett Gervais, Tayler Munson, and Jacob Hetz, who contributed one a piece. Kevin Aldridge recorded 22 saves for Fairbanks. The Ice Dogs totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Zach Quinn made 31 saves for Kenai River on 36 shots. The Brown Bears incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. |
