Esmark Stars 18U hangs on, beats New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U 2-0

Esmark Stars 18U beat New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 1:12 into the the first period by Troy Double proved to be the game winner, and powered Esmark Stars 18U to the victory Brendon Zack picked up the assist.

Esmark Stars 18U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Esmark Stars 18U was led by Double, who tallied one goal.

Esmark Stars 18U stifled New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Esmark Stars 18U forced New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U goalie Alan Feld to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Josef Kittelberger also scored for Esmark Stars 18U. In addition, Esmark Stars 18U received assists from Brian Dee and Carmen Dalesandro, who contributed one a piece.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Esmark Stars 18U to score on any of its eight power plays. New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.
