West Michigan Hounds 18U beats California Titans 18U 4-2 after comeback scare

California Titans 18U tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but West Michigan Hounds 18U would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

West Michigan Hounds 18U made the score 4-1 on a goal by Corey Siwula at 15 seconds in the third period, and California Titans 18U got as close as 4-2 when Hunter Saunders scored 8:36 into the third period.

West Michigan Hounds 18U was paced by Devin Farkas, who had one goal. Farkas scored 15:27 into the second period to make the score 3-1 West Michigan Hounds 18U. Kyle Berry picked up the assist.

West Michigan Hounds 18U stifled California Titans 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

E J Blakeslee also scored for West Michigan Hounds 18U. In addition, West Michigan Hounds 18U received assists from P J Heger, who had two and Zander Sorenson, Nathan Viberg, and Logan DeJong-Seniff, who contributed one a piece.

California Titans 18U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

California Titans 18U's starting goalie, Joe Licata, made seven saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Grant Payne, who stopped 10 shots. California Titans 18U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
