Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Pursuit of Excellence 18U defeated Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U in a shootout 3-2.

The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U got a shootout goal from Michael Zenone. In addition to the clincher, Pursuit of Excellence 18U got shootout goals from Zack Andrusiak and Brandon Duhaime.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Pursuit of Excellence 18U was down 2-0 after a goal by Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U's Zenone at 4:03 in the second period. Pursuit of Excellence 18U knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Duhaime at 4:51 in the third period.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U power plays.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U also got a goal from Dylan Williamson as well. In addition, Pursuit of Excellence 18U received assists from Merek Zimmerman, Tyler Barrett, and Andrusiak, who contributed one a piece.

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U also got points from Jason Fritsche, who also finished with one goal and one assist.
