San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U beats Esmark Stars 16U 4-3 after comeback scare

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U survived a determined comeback attempt by Esmark Stars 16U on the way to a 4-3 win.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U made the score 3-1 on a goal by Sam Reveles at 13:28 in the second period, and Esmark Stars 16U got as close as 3-2 when Alec Bosnic scored 4:35 into the third period.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U was sparked by Matthew Ebertin, who had one goal and one assist. Ebertin scored 8:10 into the third period to make the score 4-3 San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U. Evan Pace assisted on the tally.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U forced Esmark Stars 16U goalie Joseph Hubert to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

John Garrity also scored for San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U. More assists for San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U came via Didrik Koister, who had two and Sam Collier and Aidan Ward, who each chipped in one.

Esmark Stars 16U found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's defense.

Esmark Stars 16U also got a goal from Jordan Timmons as well. In addition, Esmark Stars 16U received assists from Kenneth Dee, Ethan Homitz, Beau Heakins, Sam Barnes, and David Nee, who contributed one a piece.

Jacob Acton rejected 10 shots on goal for San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Hubert recorded 29 saves for Esmark Stars 16U. Esmark Stars 16U avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays.
