Johnson's big game bests Michigan in 6-0 Cleveland win

The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks' Jared Johnson had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 6-0 win over the Michigan Mountain Cats.

Johnson beat Kevin OShea with a shot 5:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. Joseph Moza picked up the assist. Johnson dished an assist on Tyler Dalton's goal that made the score 3-0 Cleveland at 1:07 into the third period. He then added assists on Dalton's goal at 3:53 into the third and on Stefan Horgas's goal at 7:33 into the third.

Michigan was unable to stop Cleveland from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jr. Lumberjacks eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Cleveland bested its season scoring average. The Jr. Lumberjacks have scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Cleveland also got points from Horgas, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Mike Palasics, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Dalton, who also had two goals and one assist, and Troy MacMullan, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Cleveland came via Michael Ragone, who had one and Matt Wipper, who had two.

The Mountain Cats could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Michigan puts an average of 2.1 pucks into the net per game.

Tyler Jansen made eight saves before being replaced by Moza, who took the win and made 12 saves. Cleveland incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. OShea rejected 37 shots on goal for the Mountain Cats. Michigan incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
