Twin City rips Minnesota, 5-1

The Minnesota Flying Aces had trouble finding ways to stop the Twin City Steel, which beat Flying Aces, 5-1.

Twin City was sparked by Sam Basich, who registered one goal and one assist. Basich scored 8:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Twin City. Tanner Duffney assisted on the tally.

The Steel forced Minnesota's goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots and forcing 33 saves. Mike Stumpf made 23 stops and Patrick Anderson made 10.

Twin City also got points from Joonas Huovinen, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Jackson Bond, who also had one goal and one assist, and Calvin Miska, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Twin City also got a goal from Isaac Hale as well. In addition, Twin City received assists from Jace Childs, who had two.

AJ Gullickson also scored for Minnesota. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Bradee Thompson, who had one.

Jared Schletty made 21 saves for Twin City on 22 shots. The Steel incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Flying Aces incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
