The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Michigan Mountain Cats. Cleveland gained the winning advantage on a goal by Troy MacMullan 17:19 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. The Jr. Lumberjacks were led by MacMullan, who tallied one goal. Cleveland managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Jr. Lumberjacks ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Cleveland forced Michigan goalie Kevin OShea to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Cleveland also got points from Jared Johnson, who also had one goal and two assists. Cleveland also had goals scored by Avery Huibregtse, Mike Palasics, and Nick Balavich, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Stefan Horgas, who had two and Ben Urbas, Vince Fornes, John Michael Barlow, and Matt Wipper, who each chipped in one. The Mountain Cats' offense rang up 35 shots on the Jr. Lumberjacks' net. Michigan was led by Zach Collins, who registered one goal and one assist.
